It has been a great father and son experience and I strongly suggest anyone that is interested in flying make sure you contact Bernie. Before you know it,ground school will be complete and you will be airborn listening to Bernie say, (now your flying) with his hands and feet off the controls and a smile from ear to ear.ha-ha. Needles to say Taylor and I have our permit and all hrs accumulated for our pass rating.We just ran out of time and weather to complete it. So next spring, after accumulating hrs all winter,we will be back to Bernies, twisting his arm to fly the cub again,and hopefully he will sign us off so we can take our flight test for our pass rating. At Clarence, did a quick double pass over Rumsey Lake to say ello to family there and then back to the fly -in. What a great day and a great sight to see all the activity. Bernie and Shelly were awesom hosts proving lots of food, snacks,drinks,music and warm hospitality. They ordered up the nicest fall day you could have ever dreamed of complete with numerous visiting aircraft a R44 helicopter and horses grazing nearby. Hey guys ...how good does it REALLY get. This was it for me and I will remember Oct 3rd at East Coast Ultralight for a looooong time. THANK YOU Bernie and Shelly. It was simply a day for the record book in all respects. WE were back in St.Paul NB by 5:00 PM after yet another visit in Parrsboro. Flying over the Bay of Fundy near Cape Split was breathtaking !!!! |

| Comments: | Hi Bernie, After finally parting ways you and Trevor in Trenton I flew on northward with fuel stops at Shediac Bridge, Miramichi, Bathurst,(P-stop) and Charlo where I stayed for the night. I had a great flight. No wind, blue sky and visability unlimited. When ever it was possible I flew the coast line at low level. Departed Charlo at 9:30(airport only opened at 9:00) and flew up the Matapedia valley to Matane where I ended up staying until Sunday due to a mix of rain,fog,wind, and a few thunder storms. I was out of there at dawn Sunday morning, crossing the St. Lawrence at Point des Mont and turned eastward making fuel stops at Sept-Iles, Havre St. Pierre, Natashquan and finally home to Harrington Harbour. I had flown 32hrs. and a distance of 1835 nautical miles. It was great to see old friends and meet new friends. I had the adventure of a life-time celebrating 100yrs. of flight in Canada. | Comments: | Hi Bernie, It's been a while. I received an E-mail from Alan Tuttle stating that you are now an approved Challenger inspector. Congradulations!!! Way to go. Good to hear the Flt.school is doing well and that you built and fly a new challenger. I have over 400 hrs. total time on my challenger (150 hrs. on floats) and just loving it. | Comments: | Have now Bernie for several years. Visited ECU on Thursday June 18th ....and left in awe. Great location, excellent equipment,and a beautiful line up of Challengers. Bernie's newest Challenger is the nicest I've ever seen ...anywhere. I have a Challenger myself and plan to fly to ECU probably this fall. Can't wait to join Bernie in a float landing on Rumsey lake nearby the strip. I am now saving my $$$ to purchasde puddlejumper floats ASAP ! Congratulations Bernie on your flight school and that little beauty in the hanger ! See you again in August ..if not sooner.
